The Sketchbook Library

Project: Research

Description

The Sketchbook Library is a collaborative project between Lancaster University Management School and Beaumont College. The project borrows from an initiative run previously by the Brooklyn Art Library. The Brooklyn Sketchbook Project tasked people of all backgrounds to create artworks that fill sketchbooks. Once these sketchbooks had been filled, they were sent back to the Brooklyn library and displayed for public consumption. The Sketchbook Library seeks to recreate a similar initiative but with a disability focus. We are asking disabled persons/communities to create art-based sketchbooks around themes (more info on these below). Once filled/ completed, the sketchbook is then returned to Beaumont College where it will be homed as part of the projects Travelling Library.
